The best adult sailing club in Toronto to learn, race and enjoy the waterfront

The social scene at Mooredale tends to be all things to everyone. From a quiet afternoon reading a book on the deck, to a romantic sunset sail to the Toronto Islands, or a rip roaring party after a day of racing in the best regatta of the Outer Harbour, Mooredale can be your quiet retreat in the city or a fun filled hub bustling with activity.

You will also find impromptu game nights, CANSail reunions, BBQs and may even enjoy moments of sharing a bowl of ice cream remembering Derrick Shenstone or any of our beloved members who left us far too soon. Be aware though that you will make friends with plenty of like minded individuals through your CANSail class experience, work parties, skill training sessions, destination sails, Wednesday night dinners and an array of other community events and regattas that will fill your social calendar.

Annual Community Club Crawl/Season Opening Party

Despite being overwhelmed by how many friends you will make and how friendly everyone is, the Annual Club Crawl is a meet and greet for new and old members of our club, as well as members of our neighbouring sailing clubs.

With themes, food, and drinks there is no better way to add a little interclub rivalry off the water!  Don’t miss this one.

Wednesday Night Social Sail and Dinner

The staple of our social scene, each Wednesday evening a different group of "volunteers" makes dinner for the club. Years ago, it started with burgers, but that no longer cuts the mustard. A typical dinner will have three courses for a measly $15 per person. Each CANSail 1/2 sailing class also takes on preparing a Wednesday Night Dinner (WND) for club members after their last sailing class.

While the chefs are whipping up masterpieces, everyone else is out for a sail, reclining on the deck, or swapping racing lies.

Pinata Party
Felipe Recaman and Robbin Coedy started this tradition in 2015 and it has quickly become the most popular social event on our calendar. Amazing music, food, sangria, and of course - a pinata!

Sail in the afternoon, and party all night long!

Mooredale Regatta
This premier event of the Outer Harbour is not to be missed!  Mooredale hosts this annual event in August, which attracts close to 50 boats every year with many of these boats coming from out of town.

Why do they come? Racers and non-racers alike share racing stories, gourmet food, live music and dancing into the wee hours.

Off-Season Events
In the dark period known as "winter" the club keeps rolling.  Of course we all keep in contact with our closest buds, but the whole club comes together for the annual Halloween Party, Christmas Party and the Chili and Skate party in February, ski trips, and the odd pub night for no good reason other than we want one.

Get involved in Mooredale's social scene. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it’s a sure way to meet many new and great people. Contact social@mooredalesailing.com for more info or to learn how you can help!
