The best adult sailing club in Toronto to learn, race and enjoy the waterfront

The social scene of Mooredale tends to be all things to everyone. From a quiet afternoon of reading a book on the deck, to a romantic sunset sail to the Toronto Island, or a rip roaring party after a day of racing in the best regatta of the Outer Harbour you will find what you want. The facilities can be your own private retreat or bustling with activity.  Cozy up by the fire, enjoy a nice book in a moment of quite content, catch some rays, spark up the barbeque for either an intimate dinner with someone special or create a feast for all of your friends old and new. Do be aware that you may have to share!!!

You will also find impromptu card nights, CanSail reunions, BBQs and sharing a bowl of ice cream in memory of Derrick. Be aware though you will make friends with plenty of like minded individuals through your CANSail class experience, work parties, race training sessions, destination sails, triathlons, Wednesday night dinners and an array of other community events and regattas that will fill your social calendar.

A taste of what is to be discovered…

Season Opening Party
Despite being overwhelming how many friends you will make and how friendly everyone is, the season opener party is a meet and greet for the new and old members of our club alike. The 2008 season took this to a whole new level with the first community Club Crawl, which has become an annual event. This event was shared with two of our neighbouring Albacore clubs. Heck if you can’t make enough new friends at our club how about adding two more to the mix.

With themes, food, and fruity drinks there was no better way to add a little interclub rivalry off the water!  Don’t miss this one.

Wednesday Night Social Sail and Dinner
The staple of our social scene.  Each Wednesday, a different group of volunteers makes dinner for the club. Years ago, it started with burgers, but that no longer cuts the mustard. A typical dinner will have three courses for a measly $10 per person.

While the chefs are whipping up masterpieces, everyone else is out for a sail, reclining on the deck, or swapping racing lies.

Mooredale Regatta
The premier event of the Outer Harbour  - not to be missed!  Mooredale hosts this annual event in August, which attracts close to 50 boats every year with many of these boats coming from out of town. More info...

Why do they come? Sure, we run one of the best regattas around… but they come for the after party. Racers and non-racers alike share gourmet food, music and dancing into the wee hours.

Season Closing Party
Eventually the sailing season does come to an end after Labour Day. This is a time to reflect on the many new great friends you have made. It will be a time to reflect on another great season gone by. At this party we share our ‘Last Supper’ together while telling stories, planning for the next season, and recognize great achievements.

Off-Season Events
In the dark period known as "winter" the club keeps rolling. Of course we all keep in contact with our closest buds. But the whole club comes together for the annual Hallowe'en and Christmas Parties, the Chili competition in February, ski trips, skating parties, and the odd pub night for no good reason other than we want one.

Concerts!

Get involved.  It’s easy, it’s fun, and it’s a sure way to meet many new and great people.
